Man arrested after handguns and cocaine seized in west Dublin

The 36-year-old can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

A MAN IS being questioned by gardaí following the discovery of two handguns in west Dublin.

A small amount of cocaine was also seized.

The items were recovered at Newlands Road in Lucan when gardaí searched a 36-year-old man yesterday evening.

He was arrested and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, and can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

Ballistic examinations are due to be carried out on the firearms, and enquires are ongoing.
