Man arrested in connection with Macroom death

Gardaí in County Cork investigating the death of a man in Macroom earlier this month have arrested a 30-year-old man.

GARDAÍ IN CORK investigating the death of a 42-year-old man in Macroom earlier this month have arrested a man this afternoon.

The 30-year-old is being detained at Bandon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the man’s body at a house in Massytown in Macroom on September 15.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out but the results will not be released for operational reasons , Gardaí say.

Last weekend, a 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident was later released.
