Man arrested in connection with Macroom death released without charge

Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body at Massytown in Macroom have released a man earlier arrested in connection with the death.

A 30-YEAR-OLD man arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in Macroom in Cork earlier this month has been released without charge.

Gardaí investigating the death of a 42-year-old man in Macroom arrested the man on Thursday but he was released last night.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the man’s body at a house in Massytown in Macroom on September 15.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out but the results will not be released for operational reasons , Gardaí say.

Last weekend, a 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident was later released.
