GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in his 40s in connection with the chaos at the Smithfield Horse Fair on Sunday, where a number of shots were fired and a teenager was injured with a slash hook.

The man was arrested in Co Galway this afternoon, and has been brought to Dublin where he is being detained at Bridewell Garda Station.

He is being detained under Section 03 of the Offences Against The State Act, 1939.
