Man arrested over 2000 disappearance of Mayo woman Sandra Collins

The 29-year-old was last seen in a Killala takeaway on the night of 4 December 2000.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING the disappearance of Sandra Collins in the Killala area of Co Mayo 11 years ago have arrested a man in his 40s.

Collins was last seen in a takeaway called the Country Kitchen in Killala on the night of 4 December 2000. She was 29 years old and had short brown hair with red highlights.

A man was arrested this morning in the Ballina area and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballina Garda Station.

Several people were arrested and questioned by gardaí earlier this year after gardaí renewed their appeal for information about the disappearance.
