Man arrested over 2007 murder of British father-of-five

A man is arrested in Co Sligo in connection with the death of Tommy Thompson, a father of five, four years ago.

A MAN HAS been arrested in Co Sligo in connection with the murder of a British man killed near Portlaoise four years ago.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ Thompson, a father of five, went missing from his rented home in April of 2007. His remains were discovered outside Portlaoise in early 2008.

Gardaí this morning arrested a man in his 30s at Ballymote, south of Sligo town, in connection with the murder.

He is being held at Ballymote Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Acts.
