Man arrested over Co Donegal stabbings

Four people, including a Garda Sergeant, were injured during the incident in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN HAS been arrested following a stabbing incident in which four people were injured, including a Garda Sergeant, in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, during the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred just after midnight on Lower Main St Letterkenny outside a licensed premises. All four of the injured were brought to Letterkenny General hospital.

The three males who were injured have been released, however the Garda Sergeant has remains in hospital. He suffered hand injuries that are not life-threatening.

A 46-year-old male was arrested at the scene and taken to Letterkenny Garda station, where he is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
