Man arrested over €300,000 cannabis seizure

Gardaí discovered a ‘grow house’ while raiding a home in Kilkenny.

A MAN HAS been arrested after gardaí discovered a cannabis-growing operation at a house in Kilkenny.

Officers who raided the home in Urlingford at around 5pm today found what gardaí called a ‘grow house’ and a large haul of cannabis plants.

The street value of the plants was estimated at €320,000 subject to analysis.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested at the scene. He is currently being detained at Kilkenny garda station under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, and can be held for up to seven days.
