21-year-old man found seriously injured at Cavan roadside in the middle of the day

A teenager has been charged and is due in court.

A TEENAGER IS due in court after a 21-year-old man was found badly injured at a roadside in Cavan yesterday in broad daylight.

The victim had been subjected to a serious assault and was taken to Cavan Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

He was found on the roadside at Creighan at approximately 2pm on Monday, gardaí confirmed.

His condition is currently believed to be serious but stable.

A 19-year-old was arrested and held at Cavan garda station over the case. He is due to appear before Virginia District Court this morning charged in connection with the incident.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who say anything suspicious in the area yesterday afternoon to contact them at 049 436 8800.
