Man charged over serious assault in Dundalk pub

The 31-year-old man is due in court this morning over the serious assault at a pub on Friday night.

A 31-YEAR-OLD MAN is due in court this morning charged over a serious assault at a Louth pub on Friday night.

The attack happened at the pub on Castletown Road in Dundalk some time between 9pm and 10.30pm on 28 February.

A man in his 60s received serious head injuries in the assault and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. He died in hospital yesterday.

A post mortem is due to be carried out this morning.

The charged man is due to appear before Drogheda District Court at 10.30am today.
