Man hospitalised with head injuries after being found unconscious on Dublin street

A 24-year-old man was found unconscious on the road at Clonliffe Avenue at around 4.15am.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information after a man was found unconscious with a number of injuries on a Dublin street in the early hours of the morning.

The 24-year-old man was found unconscious on the road at Clonliffe Avenue at around 4.15am.

He suffered a number of injuries, including a head injury.

Investigating gardaí believe his injuries may be consistent with an assault.

The man was transferred to Beaumont Hospital where his injuries are being treated.

Gardaí understand that the man may have gotten in a taxi from the Phibsboro area at around 2.45am.

The scene of the incident was sealed off for a technical examination but has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for information and witnesses to the incident. They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Clonliffe Avenue area between 2.45am and 4.15am to come forward.
