Man in court over fatal Cork crash seven months ago

A woman in her 20s was killed and four other people were injured in the crash in Skibbereen in April.

A MAN IN his 20s is due in court this morning in connection with a fatal road crash in Cork more than seven months ago.

A woman in her 20s was fatally injured when the car she was a passenger in lost control on the N71 at Skibbereen just before 2am on 8 April. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other people – one woman and three men, all in their 20s, who were in the same car –  were all taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The man was scheduled to appear before Clonakilty District court at 10.30am.

Gardaí had previously appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward as part of the investigation into what caused it.
