Man in court after gardaí seize 39 kilos of drugs on Dublin motorway

The drugs were seized at a service station on the M1.

A MAN IS due to appear in court this morning after gardaí seized 39 kilos of cannabis resin on a motorway in north county Dublin.

Investigators from the Garda National Drugs Unit seized the drugs with an estimated street value of €234,000 at a service station on the M1 at approximately 9am on Thursday morning.

Gardaí said that the seizure, which happened between junctions 4 and 5 on the M1 southbound, was carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation

The man in his 40s was arrested at the scene.

He is due to appear in court in Dublin at 10.30am this morning.
