Man left dangling from lighthouse after scaffolding collapse

He received no serious injuries.

A MAN HAS been rescued by emergency services after he was left dangling from a lighthouse in Northern Ireland.

It is understood that he was working on scaffolding at St. John’s Point Lighthouse near Downpatrick, Co Down, when it collapsed, leaving him hanging 40 feet in the air.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service tweeted that he was brought to the ground with the assistance of the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and is to be taken to hospital.

The operation took little over an hour.

The man received no serious injuries.
