Man dead after car entered Kildare canal this morning

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the fatal crash.

A MAN IN his 30s has died after the car he was driving entered the canal in Kildare this morning.

It happened at Allenwood South, Naas, just before 6am.

The body of the man has been removed from the car and taken to Naas General Hospital.

He was the only person in the vehicle.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on 045-884300 The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
