Man in late 50s killed in Limerick stabbing this afternoon

A man in his 50s has been arrested.

A MAN IN his late 50s has died after an alleged assault in Limerick city centre at around 2pm this afternoon.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick with stab wounds and was pronounced dead a short time later.

It happened on Roches Row between Thomas Street and Roches Street.

A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the investigation and is being held at Roxoboro Road Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 4000.
