Man dies after being hit by a car last night

The incident occurred in Thurles Co Tipperary last night.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a man died in a road traffic collision last night.

The incident occurred on the N62 at Clongur in Thurles Co Tipperary at about 9.40pm.

The man, aged in his late-30s, died after being hit by a car. The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Clonmel Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.

The road remains closed at the scene to facilitate a forensic collision investigation. It is expected to re-open in the next hour or two.
