Man dies after alleged assault in Cavan

The 22-year-old was fatally injured in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A MAN HAS died from injuries sustained during an alleged assault in Cavan, after spending three days in hospital.

The 22-year-old was hurt in an incident at a home in Rosehill, Mullagh, in the early hours of Saturday morning. It’s believed to have occurred at around 4.40am.

After sustaining the injuries, he was taken to Cavan General Hospital. However, there his condition deteriorated and he was moved to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

The man was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out today by the State Pathologist. Gardaí are investigating the incident which led to the man’s death.
