Man dies after being hit by minibus

The 27-year-old was fatally injured in the accident in Carlingford in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN HAS died after he was struck by a minibus in the early hours of this morning.

The 27-year-old victim was fatally injured in the incident, which happened at around 2.45am today. The incident took place on the R176, in the Liberties area of Carlingford, Co Louth.

He died at the scene and was taken to the Louth Hospital in Dundalk.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination by gardaí. Local diversions are in place.
