Man (60s) dies after single-vehicle crash in South Dublin this morning

The incident occurred on the Churchtown Road Upper at 6.15am.

A MAN HAS died after a single-vehicle crash in Dundrum, Dublin 18 earlier this morning.

The incident occurred on the Churchtown Road Upper at approximately 6.15am. The man, aged in his 60s, was the sole occupant and driver of the van and died at the scene.

A technical exam has been conducted by gardaí and the road has since reopened.

It is the third road death to take place on Irish roads in 24 hours after a man in his 20s died after a motorcycle collision in co Wicklow yesterday evening and another man, a pedestrian in his 40s, died in co Cork overnight.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of the Churchtown Road Upper between 6am and 6.30am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
