Man dies after fire breaks out in Louth oil depot

The 24-year-old was killed after a blaze broke out early this morning.

A MAN HAS died in a fire at a small oil depot in Co Louth.

The 24-year-old was killed when a section of the depot went on fire at Castleroche, about 10km from Dundalk at around 7am this morning.

Fire fighters from Dundalk, Drogheda and Ardee fought the blaze and were assisted by the fire and rescue service from Northern Ireland, RTÉ reports.

It is understood that the State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem examination on the body this afternoon in the Louth County Hospital in Dundalk.
