Man dies after Meath road crash

An 83-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in the two car collision.

AN ELDERLY MAN has died following a two car collision in Dunshaughlin in county Meath earlier today.

The 83-year-old was seriously injured in the crash on the old Dublin to Dunshaughlin Road at about 12.20 this afternoon. He was taken to Blanchardstown hospital, where he later died.

A man and woman, both in their 30s, who were travelling in the second car were also taken to hospital but were later released.

The road was closed for forensic examinations but has since been reopened.

Gardaí at Dunshaughlin have asked for witnesses to the incident to contact them on 01 825 8600 or the Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
