Three others are still in hospital following the accident just after midnight.

A MAN HAS died and three others are in hospital after a road accident in Meath.

Two cars collided just after midnight at Collon, just north of Slane. One of the vehicles was carrying two men in their 20s, who were both taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

One of the men was later pronounced dead. The other is still in a serious condition.

The driver and passenger of the other car, a male and a female, were also taken to hospital in Drogheda.
