Man dies after stabbing in Swords

Garda appeal for information after one man was fatally stabbed

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information regarding the fatal stabbing of a man after he left a nightclub in Swords, Co Dublin, on Saturday night.

The man, 29, originally from Poland, left the Wright Venue nightclub shortly before 3am and was taken to hospital about an hour later.

According to RTÉ, two people brought him to the Rotunda Hospital, not realising it was a maternity hospital. He was transferred to the Mater, but died yesterday at around 4pm.

He had been stabbed several times.

Staff at the Wright Venue said there was no trouble with the man and his group, the Irish Independent reports.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone with any information that could assist their investigation to contact them on 01 666 4700.

The Wright Venue is located at the Airside Retail Park, where an explosive device was discovered beneath a car on Saturday night. The device was discovered at around 1.30am and the army carried out a controlled explosion.
