Man dies after falling at cement factory

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A MAN HAS died in an industrial accident at a cement factory in Waterford.

Gardaí say the man, aged in his late 20s, sustained serious injuries when he fell from a height while working at O’Brien Cement in Belview Port, just outside Waterford city, this afternoon.

Emergency services were present and the man was treated at scene, where he was pronounced dead.

His body was taken to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem is due to take place.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

The Health and Safety Authority and local coroner have been notified.
