Man (60s) dies following three-vehicle collision in Dublin

The fatal collision happened at around 10am this morning on the R129 near Blakes Cross in North Dublin.

A MAN IN his 60s has died following a three-vehicle collision in Dublin this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of the fatal collision which happened at around 10am near Blakes Cross in North Dublin, on the R129 at Thomondstown.

The male driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female occupant of another vehicle was taken to hospital with what are understood to be non-life threatening injuries.

The R129 is currently closed at Blakes Cross to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the vicinity of Blakes Cross and Thomondstown this morning between 9.30am and 10.00am are asked to make this footage available.

Overnight, two men in their 20s died in a separate collision in Co Carlow.
