Man dies in Co Monaghan crash

A man in his 20s has been killed in a single-vehicle collision in Emyval, Co Monaghan

A MAN HAS died following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision in Co Monaghan in the early hours of this morning.

The man, who was in his late 20s, was brought to Cavan General Hospital after the car he was driving hit a ditch at approximately 5.45am in Killacorn, Emyval, Co Monaghan. He was later pronounced dead.

Four other men were in the vehicle but only received minor injuries.

The road has been closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the collision or to anyone that may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Emyvale Garda Station on 047 – 87222 , The Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
