Man dies in Co Tipperary house fire

Two women escaped uninjured from the house after fire broke out, but the remains of a 53-year-old man were later discovered by the emergency services.

GARDAÍ ARE investigating the cause of a fatal house fire at Grange Road, Ballina, Co Tipperary, early this morning.

Three people were in the house when a fire was discovered at the premises at around 2.20am today.

Two women escaped the blaze uninjured, but a 53-year-old man was trapped inside. His remains were later discovered by the fire service.

The scene is being preserved for a technical examination and the state pathologist’s office has been notified.
