Man dies in Drumcondra house fire

It’s believed the man was sleeping upstairs in the house when the blaze broke out.

A MAN HAS died after a fire broke out in a house in Drumcondra in Dublin.

The blaze was detected by a passing gardaí at around 4.30am this morning.

Four men who were sleeping on the ground floor of the house on St. Joseph’s Avenue escaped without injury, but emergency services were unable to reach a fifth man, who was sleeping upstairs.

The fire was brought under control and an investigation into its cause is now underway.
