Man due in Bray court over ammunition and gun

The weapon and ammunition were discovered by gardaí searching a car in the Co Wicklow town on Thursday.

A MAN IN HIS 30S is due to appear before Bray District Court this evening over the discovery of a gun and ammunition by gardaí on Thursday.

Gardaí stopped a car at Sidmonton Square in Bray at around 3.30pm on Thursday.

During a search of the vehicle, a gun and a quantity of ammunition were found. The driver of the car was arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Bray Garda Station.

He is to appear in court at 6.30pm this evening to face charges over the discovery.
