Man due in court over Ballyfermot drugs seizure

A second man arrested over the garda operation has been released.

A MAN ARRESTED during a garda drugs operation last week is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning to face charges relating to that operation.

Two men, one in his 40s and the other in his 30s, were arrested following a garda search in Ballyfermot, Dublin, on Friday afternoon.

During the search in Ballyfermot and a search on premises in Newbridge, Co Kildare, herbal cannabis and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €6.5 million (subject to analysis) were seized.

The older man was later released without charge and gardaí said a file would be prepared for the DPP.

The man in his 30s is due in court this morning.
