Man due in court over discovery of firearm in Limerick

A man in his 30s is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this morning.

A MAN IN his 30s is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this morning charged in relation to the discovery of a firearm in Limerick on Thursday.

A man was arrested at approximately 9pm at Parnell Street, Limerick following an intelligence led operation by the Local Drug Unit supported by the Regional Support Unit.

He had been detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Henry Street Garda Station.
