Man due in court over €315,000 Kildare drugs seizure

One of the two men arrested on Tuesday has been released without charge, while the second is to appear in court today.

A MAN WHO WAS arrested near Kildare town on Tuesday over the discovery of drugs worth an estimated €315,000 is due to appear before Carlow District Court today.

A second man, aged in his 50s, who was also arrested on Tuesday has been released without charge.

The drugs were discovered by gardaí who stopped a van near Kildare town at around 8pm on Tuesday. Gardaí seized 3.5kgs of cocaine and 10kgs of cannabis resin which, subject to analysis, are estimated to have a street value of €315,000.
