18-year-old man in stable condition after being struck by Luas

It happened at around 8:30 tonight.

AN 18-YEAR-old man is in a stable condition in Tallaght Hospital after being hit by a Luas tonight.

He was struck while crossing the tracks at around 8:30pm.

It happened between the Cheeverstown and Citywest stops on the red line.

Communications manager with Transdev, Dearbhla Brophy, told TheJournal.ie that the incident caused slight disruption to the Luas service.

We operated a full line between the point and Tallaght and we ran a bus service between Belgard Road and Saggart between 8:30 and 10pm.

This comes a day after a woman lost her life after an incident involving a car and a Luas tram in Dublin’s city centre.

35-year-old Yao Webster from Donabate was pronounced dead at the scene.
