Man (50s) hospitalised following collision between car and lorry in Co Cork

The collision happened on the N20 Cork-Limerick road at Ballyhea near Charleville shortly after 9pm last night.

A MAN HAS been hospitalised following a collision between a car and a lorry in Co Cork.

The collision happened on the N20 Cork-Limerick road at Ballyhea near Charleville shortly after 9pm last night. 

The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is understood to be stable.

The driver of the lorry did not require immediate medical treatment.

The road was closed following the collision, but has since reopened.

A garda spokesperson said that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
