Man in court over Tallaght stabbing

A man in his 30s will appear in Dublin District Court this morning charged in connection with a fatal stabbing on Saturday.

A MAN WILL appear in court this morning charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Tallaght at the weekend.

The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old John Murdoch on 27 August and is due to appear before Dublin District Court at 10.30am today.

Gardaí in Tallaght investigating the incident arrested the man in the Dublin area and detained him at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Murdoch was stabbed shortly before 12.30am on Saturday 27 August.

He was taken from outside a new apartment complex at Cushlawn Dale estate to the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Tallaght by ambulance and was pronounced dead on arrival.

It is believed that Murdoch and a friend had met a group of three men in the Cushlawn Dale estate area in Tallaght between the late hours of Friday night and 12.30am on Saturday morning.
