Man in his 20s killed in collision involving car and truck

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 28-YEAR-OLD MAN has died in a collision between a car and a truck in Limerick this afternoon.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at Limerick Regional Hospital for a post mortem.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The crash happened at Cooga Cross on the main Doon to Cappamore Road at around 3.30pm today.

Investigators are currently carrying out a forensic examination of the scene.

Gardaí in  Cappamore have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

    Red thumbs should be taken off this, no need for them. If you like something hit the green thumb if ya don’t….dont! Simple. It would stop the distasteful eejets red thumbing someone’s death.

    I was thinking the same thing! !!!!!!!!!. Red thumbs down for what? ??? I am noticing this a lot lately for absolutely nothing. . What the hell is going on! I thought it was just me that got them for telling the truth

    Red thumbs probably for mentioning God, for throwing empty offers of sympathy and condolences into the ether never likely to be read by anyone relevant to the issue at hand, for melodramatic comments from people who never say anything much other than R.I.P and tragedy! on articles like this, for speculating on the cause of death and so on.

    I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you.
