Man in 70s killed after wall collapses on him

The man was pronounced dead at the scene in Bandon.

A MAN IN his 70s has died after a wall collapsed on him in Bandon, county Cork.

The 72-year-old was struck by the falling wall at St Patrick’s Quay in the town at around 3.30pm today. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was moved to Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí are investigating and have sealed off the area.

The Health and Safety Authority has been contacted as there was construction at the time near the wall.
