Man killed in Cavan crash

The driver in his early 20s died when his car went off the road. His passenger was also injured.

ONE PERSON HAS been killed in a single vehicle road accident in Co Cavan.

The man in his early 20s died when the car he was driving lost control and went off the road in the Drumcor area at around 6.30am today.

A passenger in the car at the time, who was also in his early 20s, was injured in the crash and taken to Cavan General Hospital. However, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicle was travelling from Killydoon to Gowna at the time of the accident, according to gardaí.

The road has been closed for a forensic examination of the scene.
