Man killed in Clifden crash

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to last night’s fatal crash in Co Galway.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a fatal crash in Clifden, Co Galway in which one man was killed.

The 51-year-old man was the driver and sole occupant of an SUV which crashed on the N50 Clifden to Westport Road at Doire na Cloiche at around 10.45pm.

The road was partially closed last night to facilitate a forensic examination of the scene, but it has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them on 095 22500.
