Man killed in Galway road crash

A man has died and another has been seriously injured in a road crash in Tuam, Co Galway.

A MAN HAS died and another has been seriously injured following a single vehicle crash in Tuam, Co Galway.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, which occurred at Belclare, Tuam, at approximately 11.30pm on the R333 last night.

The 40-year-old male driver was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The 46-year-old front seat passenger was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to University College Hospital Galway for treatment, where he remains.

The car collided with trees and a wall just outside the village of Belclare.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have been on the road from 11pm to 11.30pm is asked to contact the Gardaí at Tuam on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
