Man killed in house fire in Co Wicklow

It is understood that foul play is not suspected at this time.

A MAN WAS killed in a house fire in Coolroe, Tinahely, Co Wicklow on Friday evening.

At around 7:30pm, Gardaí and Fire Services were alerted to the fire.

In a statement to The Journal An Garda Síochána said the fire was brought under control by the Fire Service and the body of the sole occupant of the residence was recovered from inside the house.

The local coroner has been notified and gave permission for the body to be removed following a full technical examination.

It is understood that foul play is not suspected at this time.
