Man killed in single vehicle crash in Co Galway

The 52-year-old was the sole occupant of the car which struck a wall on the N17 at Ballybrit this morning.

ONE MAN HAS died after his car struck a wall near Ballybrit on the N17 Galway to Tuam Road.

The incident occurred at around 9.30am today.

The 52-year-old man was the only occupant of the car and no one else was injured in the collision. He was brought to University College Hospital Galway, where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí temporarily closed the road to carry out a technical investigation, but it has since reopened.
