Man killed in Skibbereen crash

A motorcyclist in his 40s has died following a collision in Co Cork this evening.

A MAN HAS died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in Skibbereen, Co Cork, earlier today.

The collision occurred at about 5pm on the Skibbereen to Ballydehob road, approximately three miles outside Skibbereen.

The motorcyclist, a male in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

The scene of the collision remains closed pending a technical examination. Diversions are in place.
