Man killed in three vehicle crash in Carlow

The man in his twenties was driving a van which collided with a tractor and then a Jeep.

A MAN IN his twenties has been killed in a crash involving three vehicles on the Rathvilly to Carlow road near Rathmore in Co. Carlow this afternoon.

The man was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a tractor. A third vehicle, a Jeep, then collided with the van.

The driver of the van was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The drivers of the other vehicles were also taken to hospital in Naas with minor injuries.

The road remains closed this evening, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Tullow Garda Station on 059 9181160 or on the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
