Man charged over death of 58-year-old in Kildare

The victim was named locally as Patsy Kelly and described as a well liked character in the community.

A MAN APPEARED in court today charged in connection with a serious assault that killed a man in Kildare.

58 year old Patsy ‘Bud’ Kelly died of injuries sustained in the attack. It happened at Sarto Court in Naas on Saturday night. Kelly was taken to Naas General Hospital where he later passed away.

Mayor of Naas councillor James Lawless said the man was “a well known and well liked character” in the town.

The 35-year-old man arrested at the scene appeared at Naas District Court this morning charged in connection with the investigation.
