Man on the run after escaping Garda custody in Limerick

The 25-year-old escaped as he was being brought into Limerick Prison yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for anyone with information to come forward after a prisoner escaped from custody while being brought into Limerick Prison yesterday.

The 25-year-old had appeared before Tralee District Court along with a 23-year-old co-accused. The pair are accused of car theft.

They had been remanded in custody and were being brought into the prison both handcuffed men made a bid for freedom.

The 23-year-old was re-captured but the second man escaped.
