Man received serious head injuries in quadbike hit-and-run

The pedestrian was treated at the scene by ambulance staff before being taken to hospital.

POLICE IN OMAGH are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with serious head injuries following a hit-and-run involving a quadbike.

It happened on the Erganagh Road at around 10.45 last night and the pedestrian was treated at the scene by ambulance staff before being taken to hospital.

Inspector Glen Latimer said, “I am appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time particularly regarding the movements of two quad motorbikes to contact Omagh Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1438 of 07/07/17.

“Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The road was closed for a time but has now reopened.
