Man released without charge following €4m heroin seizure

Two other people arrested in connection with the haul appeared before court yesterday.

A MAN HAS been released without charge following the seizure 27 kilos of heroin.

Two people appeared before court yesterday in connection with the discovery, thought to have a street value of €4 million.

The pair, a man and a woman, were arrested during a garda operation on the M1 near Drogheda, Co Louth, on Thursday when the gardaí stopped and searched an articulated truck.

A file will be sent to the Direct of Public Prosecutions following the man’s release.
