Man remains in hospital after being run over and shot four times in Dublin

He remains in the Mater Hospital in Dublin where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A MAN REMAINS in hospital today after being run over and shot four times in Dublin last night.

Eddie Staunton was shot around 10pm at the Liberty House flats on Railway Street in Dublin 1.

Staunton was run over by the car before being shot in the chest.

The shooting is believed to be related to the ongoing feud between the Hutch and Kinahan gangs. While Staunton is a friend of a member of the Hutch gang, Garda sources say he is not involved in the feud.

He remains in the Mater Hospital in Dublin where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Sources say that the ongoing feud is unlikely to stop any time soon.

“It won’t be an all-out war, but these things (shootings) will continue,” says one.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses and who may have information or who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious to contact them at Store Street garda station on 01 666 800 The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any garda station.
